Celtic have been told that they need to pay £7m to land Sarpsborg winger Sondre Ørjasæter. The Scottish Champions are expected to be active in the transfer window over the next few days as Brendan looks to strengthen ahead of the UCL Playoffs against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has confirmed that Celtic have had their opening bid rejected for the player with the Norwegian side keen to hold onto the 21-year-old attacker.

Ørjasæter has played a total of 95 first-team matches across his club career, scoring 15 goals and providing 15 assists. The player’s prominent rise has caught the eye of Celtic; who are keen to bring him in as an attacking option. It would appear that the club are looking for succession planning for Nicolas Kühn or looking to switch Daizen Maeda into a more central role.

Maeda signed for Celtic with the expectation that he was a striker and has chimed in with goals when playing through the middle. With Kyogo away, Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby but the valuations appear to be some way away.
