The past seven days has seen us fail to win in two consecutive games. From the heart-ache of conceding a last minute equaliser in Munich to falling to a VAR assisted defeat at Easter Road, we are in the midst of what some members of the SMSM would like to term as a ‘mini slump’., although results and subsequent events elsewhere has frustrated that opportunity for them.
Now Celtic has the chance to rectify that run of results tomorrow evening when we take on a back in form Aberdeen side at Celtic Park. The Bhoys will want to put on a show and Brendan Rodgers will be looking for a great performance and to open up a 16 point gap for 24 hours at least.

The Dons who have endured what can be construed as a ‘mega slump’ since their blistering start to the season, that ended when Celtic burst their bubble with that 6-0 hammering in the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final at Hampden. However Jimmy Thelin’s side has picked up their form in the past few matches, winning three consecutive games. Two of them coming in the league as they aim for a third place finish in what would be considered a successful campaign, given that they failed to make the top six last season.
The Dons last trip to Paradise was an impressive one for them, as they fought back from two goals down to earn a point in a game that Celtic were guilty of taking the foot off the gas at the start of the second half and got punished as a result. Heavy Celtic pressure in the closing stages was resisted by Aberdeen who were delighted at taking a point from Parkhead.

Celtic have had the measure of the Jimmy Thelin’s side since, thumping them 6-0 in that semi final back in November and edging them out 1-0 in league duty at Pittodrie a month later, in a match played in terrible weather.
We will need to show that same sort of form and desire Tomorrow if we are to get back to winning ways, and earn another valuable three points that will take us another step closer to a fourth successive title. Then we can sit back and watch events unfold at Rugby Park on Wednesday night – should be entertaining!
