Celtic’s history-making winger James Forrest has revealed that he is hungry to win more trophies with the club, in the aftermath of becoming the most-decorated player of all time at the most successful club in Scotland…

The classy wideman first donned the hooped shirt all those years ago in 2010, when he climbed off of the bench against Motherwell at home to net on his first-team debut.

In fairness to the Scottish star, he’s not really looked back ever since and has been a central pillar in the changing evolution of the team and club over the years. Starting under Neil Lennon and then Ronny Deila, the winger admitted he was on his way out of the Glasgow club, until Irishman Brendan Rodgers arrived in his first spell in 2016 and totally transformed the attacker along with several teammates.

Having enjoyed many trophy-laden years at the club he supports and came through the academy with, Forrest can scarcely believe he holds this wonderful accolade next to his name, such is the humility with which he holds himself. After helping secure another Scottish Premiership crown for the side, he said to Celtic TV: “I think always the next one feels the best and I think it just makes you hungry to be a part of a Celtic team, the club is unbelievable and I just want to keep working hard and hopefully there’s more to come.

“It’s unbelievable (winning his 26th trophy), I think it’s amazing personally. All the youth coaches, all the coaches, managers, players that I’ve worked with, obviously my family so I think it’s for everyone. It’s a team game and you get through the hard times and the good times with your team-mates, with the fans and your family, so it’s great to be a part of.

“Definitely not (the trophy haul), I’m getting older, but I’ve just signed a new deal, I’m here next season and I’m just gonna work hard and keep trying to be a part of this team, keep helping the players and just keep trying to contribute and keep progressing. I think the boys are wanting me to score, but I’m just buzzing, I was out there for a period of time, so last few games I’ve really enjoyed and it’s just great being a part of this team,” James added.
