CF Montréal have reportedly signed Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty from rivals Toronto FC in a headline-making move.
That is according to reports from TSN’s Matthew Scianitti and MLS insider Tom Bogert, who claims the 20-year-old joined for roughly $1 million General Allocation Money.
The deal has yet to be announced but was finalized before the closing of the Canadian transfer deadline on Thursday.
Marshall-Rutty can play both as a winger and a wing-back and has trained with Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal.
He opted to stay with TFC and made 83 senior appearances for the club before switching to their rivals.
The former Academy player departs BMO field with one goal and 10 assists as his new chapter in Quebec awaits.
Marshall-Rutty is also a Canadian youth international looking to earn his first call to the senior side.
