Edin Terzic could return to football management with a club in the Premier League six months after guiding Borussia Dortmund to the Uefa Champions League final.

The German has been out of work since announcing the “very difficult decision” to step away from the dugout in June after two years in charge.

Terzic is now “ready for a new job” and may even return to a club in England that he has previously worked for, according to Sky Germany.

It is claimed that the 41-year-old is “being considered” by West Ham United as a potential “candidate” to replace for Julen Lopetegui, if they choose to sack the Spaniard.

The Hammers have endured a tough start to the campaign under their new manager, winning just two of their opening eight Premier League matches.

Terzic is said to have a “good reputation” at West Ham after working under Slaven Bilic as his assistant between 2015 and 2017.

AC Milan are also said to be looking at the former forward as a potential hire. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly already been in contact with him.

Paulo Fonseca was only appointed in the summer, but came under pressure after failing to win his opening three games in Serie A. However, the Rossoneri’s form has improved lately, winning four of their last five league matches.

Terzic boasts a 66 percent win rate over two stints as Dortmund manager. He guided the club to victory in the DFB Pokal as interim boss in 2021.

He was installed as permanent head coach a year later, and missed out on winning the Bundesliga on the final day in his first full season. Although they finished fifth the following year, he guided the side to Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid.
