The teenager has featured for Chelsea four times this season
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard is looking to raid former club Chelsea with a loan move for Sam Rak-Sakyi.
Talks are scheduled for next week after the West Midlands club made initial contact over a deal to take the 19-year-old on loan for the rest of the season.
Rak-Sakyi is highly thought of at Chelsea, and has broken into Enzo Maresca’s senior squad on occasion this season.
The midfielder has made four appearances in the Europa Conference League, including starting the 3-1 win over Astana in Kazakhstan in December, and is poised to be named in Chelsea's squad for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe.
The England Under-18 international is now of interest to Coventry, who appointed former Chelsea captain and manager Lampard in late November.
Rak-Sakyi joined Chelsea as an eight-year-old and has been on their books since 2013. He signed a new two-year contract with the Blues in August 2024.
He is the younger brother of Crystal Palace winger Jesurun, currently on loan with Championship side Sheffield United.
This is not the first time Lampard has used his contacts book in the transfer mark. Six seasons ago, Lampard took Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori on loan while in charge of Derby to much success.
