Dean Huijsen is on his way to Real Madrid, which has Chelsea, Liverpool, and PSG all looking for other options. Both Chelsea and Liverpool want to strengthen their defenses, and once again, it looks like they’ll be chasing the same target this summer.

PSG have brought in some young talent at center-back recently, signing Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho over the past two years. Still, the club is expected to go after another defender this summer.

With Presnel Kimpembe’s future up in the air, Marquinhos entering his 30s, Lucas Hernandez trying to find his best form again, and Milan Skriniar likely to leave permanently, PSG know they need to add more young players in that position.

PSG face competition from Chelsea and Liverpool for same transfer target

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are all vying for Benfica defender Tomás Araújo, according to Foot Mercato. After Real Madrid swooped in ahead of the two Premier League clubs to land Huijsen, the 23-year-old Araújo has become a top alternative.

Araújo, who made his senior Portugal debut last November, won’t come cheap—he’s under contract until 2029 with a hefty €80 million release clause. Meanwhile, PSG are on the lookout for a potential replacement for Marquinhos.

Anfield Watch recently reported that Liverpool have Araújo on their radar as they look to strengthen their defense. This season, Benfica has been using the Portuguese defender at right-back, and he’s also drawing interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
