Chelsea are now the second least effective team in the Premier League in one area that needs improving as soon as they possibly can.

And this is an area that really needs to be coached by Enzo Maresca and needs to worked on in training and encouraged in set ups. But it’s also an area that could be improved by bringing new personnel.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea back in for Jhon Duran this month!!

Chelsea have been quite up and down this season with a very good start and a chance to even top the table just before Christmas time. But then over Christmas, they had a terrible run of form and dropped back down to the 4th/5th positions. A win against Wolves on Monday night saw them get back to winning ways after six games without one.

But one area of the pitch they need to look at is tackles. Surprisingly, Chelsea are just not making that many tackles in games, and to win games, they will need to be making more. Tackles stop goals, win possession, and can change a defensive situation to an attacking one in an instant.

Second least effective team

According to Chelsea stats this week, Chelsea ranks as the second least effective team in the Premier League regarding tackles this season, having made 338 tackles, surpassing only Manchester City, which has 288 tackles.

Well that is not a good sight to see at all and will maybe explain a lot of Chelsea’s inconsistencies over the last month or so.

Defensively they do need to improve, and they have conceded a lot of goals this season as well as scoring them.

Let’s see if Maresca can do something to improve this area of the pitch, something that is certainly needed.
