Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi (26) has greenlit a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Fabrizio Romano can reveal. The France international and Unai Emery’s Villains have reached an agreement, RMC’s Fabrice Hawkins confirms. Disasi featured regularly last season under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino but his stock has increasingly decreased with Enzo Maresca in the Chelsea dugout. Despite the long-term absence of fellow France centre-back Wesley Fofana (24) and the departure of Renato Veiga to Juventus, Chelsea are open to parting ways with Disasi as early as this winter.
Romano understands that it is now up to Chelsea and Aston Villa to reach an agreement to seal Disasi’s switch from Stamford Bridge to Villa Park. Disasi joins the Blues from AS Monaco in a €45m move. The France international is tied to the two-time Champions League winners with a long-term contract set to expire in 2029. The Italian reporter adds that Disasi intends to join the Birmingham-based Premier League club after a crucial round of talks with Villa manager Unai Emery.
