Chelsea’s squad builders, aka the sporting directors, have now left themselves with a real problem after the latest howler.
That is according to one pundit who was watch the Aston Villa vs Chelsea game last night.
The Blues lost 2-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday evening after being 1-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. I think Chelsea fans would have just expected even at that point, that their side were still going to lose this game, and they did.
Yet another horror goalkeeper error from Chelsea saw Villa grab the winning goal near the end of the game, but we all saw it coming.
Chelsea could not score and were really terrible. Even Cole Palmer was terrible, and he was seen trying to blame others for a bad pass that HE himself made. This just about sums everything up right now.
With that error from Filip Jorgensen in the nets, massive questions are once again being asked about the ability of SDs Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart. How have they managed to spend so much money yet are still in need of a top number of goalkeeper? It’s beyond madness.
Jamie Redknapp speaking on Sky Sports.
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp could not believe what he was witnessing for Villa’s winning goal.
Redknapp believes with both ‘keepers making high-profile errors, Chelsea have a real issue when it comes to the goalkeeping position right now.
He said to Sky Sports: “He won’t want to see that again, it’s awful goalkeeping. They’ve left themselves with a real problem, because they’ve both made mistakes.
“He’s got a lot of time to see it. I mean, it’s horrible for him. It’s one of those, everyone makes mistakes but when it’s a goalkeeper it’s so much worse.”
He’s spot on, heads need to roll at Chelsea for anyone behind making any decisions on new goalkeepers.
