Atletico San Luis will host Chivas de Guadalajara at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras this Wednesday, March 2, 2022, as Marcelo Michel Leano will be looking to switch up his lineup without Alexis Vega available.
This is the possible lineup for Chivas against San Luis: Raul Gudino, Miguel Ponce, Luis Olivas, Hiram Mier, Isaac Brizuela, Sergio Flores, Fernando Beltran, Cristian Calderon, Roberto Alvarado, Jesus Angulo, Jose Juan Macias
Alexis Vega received a red card in Chivas’ last game against Puebla and will serve a two-match ban that includes this game against San Luis. The absence of Vega is a big blow for Chivas’ offense as the Mexican striker had contributed four goals and an assist this season.
Marcelo Michel Leano’s team has not really been proven to work without Vega leading the way in the attack. Jose Juan Macias is the likely candidate to replace Vega in the lineup, recently returning to the Liga MX after a short-lived stint with Getafe in Spain.
Macias had previously proven to be a lethal striker in the Liga MX, but just needs to regain the confidence he once had. Roberto Alvarado has proven to be a very creative player going forward for Chivas this season as he will need to keep that going in Vega’s absence.
Cristian Calderon is an aggressive option going forward with Brizuela possibly playing at fullback, but Michel Leano has shown that he does not mind taking risks. This matchup against Atletico San Luis is a very winnable one for the visitors as San Luis has failed to win at home all season long.
