Real Betis star Claudio Bravo has this week provided an insight into his future with the club.
The subject of Bravo’s plans beyond the summer has long represented a headline talking point at La Liga outfit Betis.
As much comes ahead of the expiration of the veteran shot-stopper’s terms at the Benito Villamarín, in just a couple of months’ time.
Despite now being 40, Bravo had enjoyed a solid start to the campaign with Manuel Pellegrini’s side, before being struck down by a long-term injury back in November.
In turn, it has been suggested in the media that his contract could yet be extended.
Speaking in an interview with 365scores.com, as cited by Marca, this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future beyond the summer was put to the Chilean icon once more.
And Bravo went on to admit that, as of yet, he is unaware of what his plans for next season entail:
“I haven’t made a decision yet, but I’m not worried about the future. I’m enjoying it day by day and when the time comes we will make a decision about what to do next season… My contract ends in June , but there is still the season and my head is ready to enjoy, help and achieve goals.”
Pressed further on the prospect of retirement, the goalkeeper continued:
“No. If I feel good physically and they offer me a project that motivates me, I will continue playing football. For now, I am not thinking about retiring, but I have had a long and successful career and I would not like to extend it if it were not for the experience and for a club that excites me. I am open to new experiences and right now I continue thinking as a footballer, but if a project that interests me, I will be prepared to face new professional challenges.”
