The president of Lazio, Claudio Lotito, made a bold claim about the role his club plays in the Italian capital.

In an appearance at the Teatro Olimpico for the 100th anniversary of Corriere dello Sport, Lotito spoke to the newspaper about the derby of May 26, 2013 which the Biancocelesti won, beating Roma in the final.

“The front page I treasure most? The one from May 26th. Corriere dello Sport represents the history of Rome the same way Lazio does too.”

Then, the Bianconcelesti chairman weighed on his side’s season so far, “I’m interested in the team maintaining this trend of hunger, humility and determination.”

“We wanted a serious team and a coach who could bring back enthusiasm, pride and belonging: now we have all these ingredients.”
