Atlas 1-1 Chivas

Scorers: Đurđević 35'; Nervo 32' (own goal)

City rivals Atlas and Chivas held each other in check across a 90-minute stalemate that ended 1-1 at Estadio Jalisco in the El Clásico Tapatío.

With both sides coming into the late evening fixture sitting outside of the top ten places, three points were at a premium for both outfits, yet neither could apply the killer blow in Guadalajara.

Chivas would take the lead just after the hour mark thanks to an own goal from Los Rojinegros defender Hugo Nervo, but that lead would only have a shelf-life of mere minutes.

Montenegran forward Uroš Đurđević restored parity in front of home support three minutes later to give Atlas a chance to push on before the interval.

Both sides would exchange body blows and create a handful of big chances across the night but in the end, it would finish at evens between the two, with Chivas missing out on a top-ten place on goal difference.

Club América 5-0 Mazatlán

Scorers: Dávila 4', 51' (pen), Fidalgo 13', 59', Aguirre 75'

Two goals inside the opening 15 minutes of action at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes set the tone as Club América earned a 5-0 Clausura win over Mazatlán.

Victor Dávila's goal in the fourth minute was a sign of things to come from André Jardine's Águilas, with Álvaro Fidalgo adding a second just ten minutes later.

The halftime whistle could not have come soon enough for Mazatlán as América remained dominant throughout the opening 45 minutes of action.

But that state of play would continue after the interval, and the home side would find two more strikes before the hour mark, with Dávila and Fidalgo each completing braces and Rodrigo Aguirre joining in on the action 15 minutes from full-time.

Graciously, América were unable to find a sixth before full-time, but the emphatic result sees the iconic Mexican side climb up to second in the table.
