FIFA have confirmed the full details of the prize pot for teams competing in the upcoming Club World Cup, which will have a pool of $1bn up for grabs, as well as a $250m solidarity payment for teams that are not competing.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be the first of a completely reformatted tournament, which will feature 32 teams from six different federations in a World Cup-style format. There will be a group stage followed by a knock-out process that runs from the round of 16 until the eventual final.

A total of $525m has been set aside for the participating sides, and a further $475m will be distributed among those clubs based on sporting success in the tournament.

Each team’s share of the $525m participation pillar varies, and is determined by a ranking based on ‘sporting and commercial criteria’.

The $475m set aside for sporting success is fixed. All teams will earn the same amount if they progress, regardless of their location or commercial appeal.
