CM: The big decisions Milan face after a ‘night full of disappointment and anger’

The Coppa Italia final became AC Milan’s only way to save a dreadful season, and the failure to win it will spark big changes.
As Calciomercato.com recall, it was a night full of disappointment and anger. Milan failed to achieve what had become the only target left, and what made it harder to stomach is that Bologna seemed to have a great hunger for victory.
There is the accusation that Milan were team that took to the field with the presumption of being stronger than their opponents, but in the end betrayed the trust of the 29,000+ Milanisti that had filled the Stadio Olimpico.
The post-match was a whirlwind of negative emotions. Sergio Conceicao first did not shake hands with former player Davide Calabria and then preferred not to wear the runners-up medal that he received.
The Portuguese coach ended his experience in red and black in a saw way, and the last two games in the league will only serve to understand the final position of the team in the standings (and the relative European placement) but will not change an ending that has already been written.
The former Porto coach will be fired at the end of the season and it is the inevitable result of a five-month journey made of misunderstandings, internal arguments, mediocre results and a poor feeling even with the environment.

The blame has various causes and Conceicao is not the main one, but this does not take anything away from the series of gross errors committed even in the final. In his place, Milan seem oriented to take an Italian coach: Massimiliano Allegri and Vincenzo Italiano are in the running.
This cursed season for those who care about the red and black colours has certainly exposed the weaknesses of a management that has committed a series of errors so big as to open a debate on the future.
CEO Giorgio Furlani made it clear that there will be no revolutions within the club. In other words, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jovan Kirovski and Geoffrey Moncada will all remain in their current roles. There is an added risk that the sporting director role will remain empty.
The latest rumours suggest Igli Tare is now out of the running and Tony D’Amico being the favourite but Atalanta have put up a wall. It remains to be seen whether the ugly defeat could lead Furlani to accelerate for another candidate, perhaps even Fabio Paratici.
