Colombia will look to continue their winning ways at Copa America 2024 when they take on Costa Rica at State Farm Stadium.
Colombia, led by veteran James Rodriguez, managed to hold on for a 2-1 victory in their opening Copa America match against Paraguay. First-half goals from Crystal Palace duo Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma were enough to see out the three points despite Julio Enciso pulling one back late on in the second 45.
Costa Rica may have not won their first match at the tournament like Colombia, but they held on for what could end up being a vital point at the end of group stage, holding Brazil to a 0-0 draw. On another day, Brazil probably would've converted one of the 19 total shots they had, but it was still a step in the right direction for Costa Rica as not many expected much from the match vs the South American nation.
Here's 90min's preview of Colombia vs Costa Rica at Copa America 2024.

Colombia might be without center-back Jhon Lucumi for the upcoming contest vs Costa Rica after the defender suffered a knock and played just 25 minutes vs Paraguay. The Bologna defender's status is unknown and he very well could be a game-time decision.
Lerma was the only Colombia player to be shown a yellow card, and if he's shown another yellow card vs Costa Rica, he would then miss their final group stage match vs Brazil.

Although Costa Rica don't have any injuries to report on in their camp, they do have a couple of players that were shown yellow cards in their goalless draw against Brazil. Captain Francisco Calvo and forward Manfred Ugalde were both shown yellow cards against Brazil, meaning they could miss Costa Rica's final group stage match vs Paraguay if they pick up another booking Friday night.
Costa Rica predicted lineup vs Colombia (3-4-1-2 ): Sequeira; Mitchell, Vargas, Calvo; Quiros, Brenes, Galo, Lassiter; Aguilera; Ugalde, Zamora.
Costa Rica might fancy their chances of holding out for another draw after securing a point against Brazil, but Colombia are in sync and will be tough to keep out of goal with the likes of James and Luis Diaz wreaking havoc up front.
It should be a straightforward victory for Colombia in the end with Costa Rica scoring their first goal of the tournament, but the South American country will prove to be too much by wrapping up another three points.
