Wilfried Nancy has been named the Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year for the 2024 season.
The Columbus Crew head coach takes home the award for the first time after guiding his side to this season's Leagues Cup, defeating Los Angeles FC in the final, as well as the final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Nancy, who won the 2023 MLS Cup with the Crew, also led them to a second-placed finish in the Eastern Conference behind Inter Miami. They fell in the first round of the playoffs to New York Red Bulls, but it was a very successful season regardless given their exploits on three fronts.
The Crew also scored the most goals 972), and conceded the fewest (40), in a single season in their MLS history. They also had the best goal difference (+32) across the entire league.
Nancy beat off competition from the likes of Tata Martino, Chris Armas, Dean Smith, Steve Cherundolo and Greg Vanney to win the award.
