Companies Howe have confirmed (see below) that there are now six Newcastle United directors on the board.
The club had been operating with a board of five.
Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani, Asmaa Mohammed Rezeeq, Jamie Reuben, and Roger Thornton.
The last named of those having joined the NUFC board in July 2024, replacing Amanda Staveley.
Making it six Newcastle United directors is Jacobo Solis.
A Companies House update (see below) on Thursday 9 January 2025 revealing that Solis was actually appointed on 16 December 2024. The club also confirming (see below) the appointment today.
Filings are usually shown at Companies House a little bit after the club make any changes.
Starting with the day of the takeover, these are the Newcastle United board appointments and resignations, as per the filings at Companies House that are available for the public to see:
Amanda Staveley – Joined the Newcastle United board on 7 October 2021.
Jamie Reuben – Joined the Newcastle United board on 7 October 2021.
Lee Charnley – Left the Newcastle United board on 7 October 2021.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan – Joined the Newcastle United board on 2 December 2021
Majed Al Sorour – Joined the Newcastle United board on 12 May 2022 and left on 14 December 2022.
Majed Al Sorour – Left the Newcastle United board on 14 December 2022.
Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani – Joined the Newcastle United board on 23 February 2023.
Asmaa Mohammed Rezeeq – Joined the Newcastle United board on 23 February 2023.
Amanda Staveley – Left the Newcastle United board on 12 July 2024, as confirmed by Companies House update on 22 July 2024.
Roger Thornton – Joined the Newcastle United directors on 25 July 2024, as confirmed by Companies House update on 7 October 2024.
Jacobo Solis – Joined the Newcastle United directors on 16 December 2024, as confirmed by Companies House update on 9 January 2025.
As you can see, the Newcastle United board now has six directors currently, those are:
Jacobo Solis, Roger Thornton, Jamie Reuben, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani and Asmaa Mohammed Rezeeq.
The new addition will be amongst those representing the PIF side of things. The club now owned 85 percent by Saudi Arabia PIF and 15 percent by the Reubens.
The four Saudi Arabia PIF representatives on the Newcastle United board – NUFC Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan as well as Jacobo Solis, Abdulmajid Al-Hagbani and Asmaa Rezeeq.
Whilst representing the Reuben family minority ownership are Roger Thornton and Jamie Reuben.
Newcastle United official announcement – 9 January 2025:
‘Newcastle United today announced the appointment of Jacobo Solis to the club’s Board of Directors.
Solis is Head of Europe Direct Investments in the International Investments Division at PIF. He has been directly involved with Newcastle United since the acquisition of the club by an investment group led by PIF in October 2021 and is closely aligned with the club’s strategy and plans for the future.
Prior to joining PIF, Solis worked as an investment banker in the United States, and prior to that, as a lawyer in his native Spain. He also sits on the boards of LIV Golf, E1 Series, the all-electric powerboating championship, and POSCO E&C, the South Korean engineering company, all of which have received investment from PIF.
