Comunicaciones, Saprissa meet in Central American Cup Play-In round | OneFootball

MIAMI – The 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with Comunicaciones FC and Deportivo Saprissa facing off in the Play-In round on Wednesday.

Despite being eliminated from the title hunt in the quarterfinals, both clubs have a chance to qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup berth. The two sides will play a two-leg series to decide one of the two remaining berths in Concacaf’s premier club tournament.

Comunicaciones FC vs. Deportivo Saprissa

Comunicaciones FC and Deportivo Saprissa will meet at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The match will mark the 31st overall encounter across all between the two clubs.

Comunicaciones enters the series win in the Play-In round for a second consecutive edition. Diego Casas leads the Guatemalan side in scoring with three goals.

Saprissa also returns to the Play-In round with sights on returning to a consecutive edition of the Concacaf Champions Cup. Javon East leads the team in goal contributions with four, two goals and two assists.

Saprissa leads the all-time series with 14 wins to 10 for Comunicaciones. Six other meetings resulted in draws.
