Confident and with injury woes behind him, Marcus Thuram is ready to carry the Inter Milan attack in the absence of Lautaro Martinez.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
The Frenchman confidently proclaimed that he believes himself to be among the top ten strikers in world football.
Thuram noted that he has now grown into the centre-forward role after three seasons.
The 27-year-old as been more prolific than ever this season. And that is a testament to the degree to which he has honed his instincts as an out-and-out striker.
After a blazing first half of the season, Thuram’s form slowed down somewhat at the start of 2025.
A lot of that owed to nagging injury problems.

Thuram picked up an ankle knock in a math against Fiorentina in Feburary.
That proved to be a difficult injury for the Frenchman to really shake off. Therefore, he spent the few weeks before the international break either on the sidelines, or looking some way off his sharpest.
However, the break has proven the ideal opportunity for Thuram to hit the pause button and recover his physical condition.
And Inter will need Thuram at something close to his best. The Frenchman’s usual strike partner Lautaro Martinez will be missing, having suffered a muscle injury during the break.
Therefore, the pressure will be on Thuram to make good on his claims over the next few matches.
