Tijjani Reijnders reached a Milan milestone during Monday night’s win over Genoa, and the club plan to build around him in the future.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) report this morning, Reijnders is an immovable part of Milan and a statistic certifies it: against Genoa he reached 100 appearances with the Rossoneri, after not even two full seasons.

It is an important milestone for the Dutchman who in these two years has grown exponentially, becoming one of the best players in Italy. His 15 goals this season across all competitions show that he has added end product to his game after an already impressive debut campaign.

Without wanting to jinx things, the paper also points out Reijnders’ reliability on a physical level, given that his last serious problem dates back to January 2022 with AZ Alkmaar. This year he has made 50 appearances already, and is expected to make another three.

Sergio Conceicao should give him a rest on Friday in the league against Bologna, ahead of the Coppa Italia final next Wednesday, but he would be available to lend a hand off the bench. Ruben Loftus-Cheek will take his place.

The goal is to have Reijnders 100% fit in Rome to win another trophy, which would be a second of the season. It would provide a sweet ending to a bitter campaign, one in which ‘Tijji’ has been one of the only shining lights.
