Two people are reportedly critically injured after violence erupted at the match between Querétaro and Atlas in Mexico on Saturday.
Associated Press reports that at least 22 people were hurt after clashes at the Estadio Corregidora.
The game was suspended in the 63rd minute as a result of the unfolding situation, with graphic videos and images circulating on social media.
There have been reports in Mexican media that between 15 and 17 people had been killed, but there has been no official confirmation of any fatalities.
“The League has begun an in-depth investigation into what happened in the stands, on the field and outside the building,” read a statement on the Liga MX’s website.
While games went ahead later on Saturday, Liga MX has since announced that the rest of this weekend’s Clausura fixture list has been suspended.
