Śląsk Wrocław have confirmed the signing Danish midfielder Patrick Olsen, on a permanent deal from Aarhus GF, on Tuesday morning.
Olsen has had a much-travelled career since leaving Brondby as a youth. As an 18-year-old he moved to Internazionale, although he made only one senior appearance during his two year spell in Italy. Stints with Stromsgodset, Haugesund, RC Lens and Grasshoppers Zurich followed, with his time in the French second tier his most productive.
Since 2017 Olsen has been back in Denmark; firstly with FC Helsingor, then with Aalborg BK, before signing with Aarhus in the summer of 2020. Since his return to his homeland, the midfielder has played more than 150 times, scoring 17 goals and making 15 assists.
Olsen has also played 50 times for the Danish national youth teams.
“I joined Śląsk because it is a club that constantly wants to develop, compete with the best and be at the top of the table,” Olsen told the club’s official website. “I heard a bit about Ekstraklasa, watched a few matches and I’m glad to be here.”
Meanwhile, Śląsk sporting director Dariusz Sztylka said: “Patrick is a relentless footballer, with a very good technique, able to pick up the ball and serve his colleagues with an accurate pass. He has also showed more than once that he can add his name to the scoresheet. “
Olsen has signed a deal until June 2025, and will wear the number 8 jersey.
