Axel Disasi has agreed personal terms with Aston Villa and wants to join the club despite interest from elsewhere according to Fabrizio Romano.

The January window is now into the final week, with Chelsea quieter than expected, although this is the time where things usually start to heat up in regards to transfers.

Chelsea are yet to sell any players and the only departure of note has been Renato Veiga joining Juventus on loan, but they have agreed a €15m deal with Strasbourg for Mamadou Sarr, who will join in the summer.

The Blues are looking to move a number of players on in the final week and are still looking to find solutions for Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Disasi, with exits seemingly no closer.

Disasi has been linked with Juventus, but it now seems he’s decided on his next move, with Romano providing an exclusive update.

He took to X.com and said:

“EXCLUSIVE: Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa.

“Disasi wants to join Villa despite interest from more clubs around Europe after direct talk with Unai Emery, crucial to get the green light. Deal now up to Chelsea and Villa to reach full agreement.”

Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in a deal worth £39m in the summer of 2023 and was a regular under Mauricio Pochettino, making 44 appearances in all competitions.

However, under Enzo Maresca things have been more difficult and the France international hasn’t featured regularly in the league, with the bulk of his minutes coming in the Conference League.

Disasi has started just four Premier League games this season, and has come in for criticism from former Chelsea player Jason Cundy, who hasn’t been impressed with his performances.

With personal terms agreed, reaching an agreement between the two clubs shouldn’t be a problem since Disasi is happy to leave and Chelsea are also open to letting him move on.

In terms of a fee it’s unclear how much Chelsea would be asking for, but this would likely be a permanent transfer, as you don’t need to agree personal terms for a loan.
