Crystal Palace continued their excellent run of form on Saturday as they beat Ipswich Town 1-0 at Selhurst Park to register their fourth win in a row.
The Eagles were missing their in-form striker Jean-Philippe Mateta who was left with a gaping hole in his ear after a terribly high challenge from Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts.
Eddie Nketiah spearheaded Palace’s attack yesterday, but the 25-year-old wasn’t effective as a centre-forward. He squandered a golden opportunity by shooting straight at Alex Palmer after Adam Wharton played him clean through with a lovely ball.
However, Oliver Glasner’s men managed to secure maximum points from the home encounter after Ismaila Sarr netted the winner in the 82nd minute. The winger dribbled the ball into the penalty area and then chipped it over the goalkeeper.
The result means Palace have climbed to 11th in the league standings, with 39 points from 28 matches.
Sarr popped up with the decisive goal, but Dean Henderson also produced an excellent display between the sticks in Saturday’s win.
The 27-year-old made a brilliant save to deny Jaden Philogene before denying Julio Enciso midway through the first-half.
Henderson, who joined the club for £20 million in 2023, pulled off seven saves during the match, with six from inside the box. He had 50 touches and completed 23 of his 33 passes.
The talented keeper also won 100% of his aerial duels and registered three clearances.
The England international has been impressive for Palace this campaign. He has started all 28 Premier League matches, keeping nine clean sheets in the process.
