Derby ‘dream’ and Leao’s reassurance: Two premonitions came true with Abraham’s goal vs. Inter | OneFootball

Tammy Abraham has had an up and down start to life at AC Milan, but during the Supercoppa final against Inter a couple of premonitions came true.

Milan produced a quite simply stunning comeback in the Supercoppa Italiana final, and Abraham was the man who scored the late winner.

The Rossoneri had found themselves 2-0 down after goals from Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi, but they drew level thanks to Theo Hernandez’s free-kick and a tidy finish from Christian Pulisic.

Then, in the third minute of five added at the end of the 90, a brilliant through ball from Pulisic found Leao, who hit the ball into the ground to square for Abraham and the tap-in sparked rapturous.

Among the various things to emerge after the game is what the goal will have meant to Abraham. Firstly, it was pointed out that the Englishman was frustrated after not scoring in the Serie A derby against Inter.

He was taken off during the second half with the game level at 1-1, and Rafael Leao told him ‘next game’ as he slumped against an advertising board.

Another video surfaced too, involving the interview that Abraham did not long after arriving while playing table football, and a vision that he had.

He was asked: “How do you imagine your first goal with AC Milan?”

The reply: “If I had to say one goal that would make everyone go crazy it would be in the derby against Inter: I touch my first ball, I score and we win 1-0. It’s my dream: to win the derby and dream.”

Not only did Abraham get his derby goal as he and Leao said he would, but it was a last-gasp winner in the final to earn Milan’s 50th trophy as a club. Good things come to those who wait.
