The head coach has extended his contract, which was due to expire at the end of next season, until 30 June 2028.
Dino Toppmöller took over as head coach of the Hessian club in summer 2023. In his first season, the team finished sixth in the Bundesliga and qualified for the UEFA Europa League, where the 44-year-old led Eintracht to fifth place in the league phase and then to the quarter-finals after two wins over Ajax. In the current Bundesliga campaign, the Eagles secured European football again under Toppmöller with two matchdays to spare and can qualify for the UEFA Champions League on the final day of the season against SC Freiburg this Saturday.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “The team have made clear progress over the course of this season in every area of the game as well as in the tactical department. There’s a significant and recognisable development, particularly compared to last season – both individually and at team level. A key factor in this positive development is the outstanding work by head coach Dino Toppmöller and his coaching staff. Under their guidance, the whole team have made a clear step forward in terms of stability, structure and maturity. They’ve particularly succeeded in developing young and talented players and establishing them at a top level. We’re sure that Dino will continue along this successful path together with the team. The objective remains to shape the performance development in the long term and continue to expand the club’s ambitious sporting prospects. Against this background, we look forward very positively to our continued cooperation.”
Toppmöller: “Being here and staying here is a matter very close to my heart. I’m incredibly proud to be head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt. We’ve undergone a very good development this season and our journey together is far from over. I’m very much looking forward to the future at Eintracht and I’m sure we’ll celebrate many more nice successes together, the next one being at Freiburg on Saturday.”
