According to a report from RMC Sport, Djibril Sidibé (31) could be set for a return to Ligue 1 this summer, following the expiry of his contract with AEK Athens.
A World Cup winner with France in 2018, Sidibé is looking for a new club. Last season, he made 13 league appearances for his club as they went on to finish second, whilst he also made four appearances in the UEFA Europa League. His lack of game time over the course of the campaign is not deterring suitors, however.
RMC Sport understands that multiple Ligue 1 clubs, within last season’s top 10 are interested in the full-back. Some of the clubs in question will even be competing in European competition next season. Sidibé, currently in France, maintaining his fitness levels, is not opposed to a return to Ligue 1. He may, however, have other options. There are also contacts with clubs in Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia.
