MIAMI – The 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League continued Sunday with the final matches in Group A at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, El Salvador.
El Salvador finished the job and won Group A to secure its return to League A. The first-place finish also secured direct qualification to the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Montserrat was relegated to League C following the loss to El Salvador.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines vs. Bonaire
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines won 3-1 against Bonaire in the day's first encounter.
Diel Spring started the scoring in the 19’ as he ran into the box to meet a service from Shakeem Adams.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines extended the lead in the 67’ when Steven Pierre tried to chip the keeper, but his ball hit off the post, and Kyle Edwards was there to bury the rebound.
Bonaire got on the scoresheet through an own goal from Jamol Yorke in the 75’.
Spring again found the back of the net off a diving header in the 82’ to record his brace.
The Vincy Heat earned a second-place finish in Group A, and its 13 points helped the nation advance to the 2025 Gold Cup Prelims as one of the best runners-up in League B.
Bonaire finished in third place with four points and will return to League B in the following edition.
El Salvador vs. Montserrat
El Salvador concluded its campaign with a 1-nil victory over Montserrat to earn promotion to League A and clinch a berth in the 2025 Gold Cup.
Rafael Tejada scored the lone goal in the 9’ as he was in the right spot to follow a save from Trent Carter Rogers.
La Selecta was able to hold off Montserrat and finish the tournament with a 5-0-1 record to seal the top spot in the group.
The Emerald Boys finished last place in Group A with a 1-0-5 mark and will be relegated to League C for the following edition.
