El Salvador takes sole possession of first place in Group A

NASSAU, The Bahamas – El Salvador and Mexico earned victories in Group A as the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship continued on Wednesday at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility in Nassau, Bahamas.
On the second matchday, El Salvador took sole proprietorship of first place in the group. Mexico earned its first points with a win over Costa Rica.
The two best teams in each group will progress to the semifinals. The two finalists in the tournament will qualify for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Guatemala 0, El Salvador 7
El Salvador won 7-nil against Guatemala in a meeting of the top two teams in Group A.
Agustín Ruíz scored the lone goal of the first period, with 9’ left, to place El Salvador in the lead. Heber Ramos extended the advantage in the second period, also at the 9’ mark.
Ramos struck again in the 12’ of the third period. Andersson Castro joined the scoresheet one minute later. The final three goals came from Rubén Batres at the 6’, Francisco Velásquez at the 5’, and Emerson Cerna at the 1’.
Costa Rica 1, Mexico 3
Mexico earned a 3-1 win against Costa Rica to rise to second in Group A on goal difference.
The two teams remained scoreless through the first period. Héctor Acevedo, 11’, and Gabriel Macías, 10’, opened the scoring for Mexico in the second.
Enoch López scored a penalty in the 11’ of the third period. Eddie Jimenez struck with 5’ left as Costa Rica attempted to come back.
