El Shaarawy closes in on new Roma deal with reduced salary

Stephan El Shaarawy will continue playing for his beloved Roma.

The Italian winger’s current contract with the Giallorossi is set to expire in June.

However, his stay for another year seems almost certain.

According to today’s edition of Il Tempo, a one-year renewal is coming for the Giallorossi attacker.

In order to extend his stay in the capital, El Shaarawy agreed to a significant pay cut compared to his current salary.

The 32-year-old will earn 1.5 million euros for the 2025/2026 season: he currently earns 3.5 million.
