Real Madrid striker Endrick has insisted he is up for the challenge of trying to earn more minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Having arrived from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024 for a fee of up to €72m, Endrick has not yet started a single La Liga match, appearing for just 89 minutes across 14 appearances in the competition.
Rumours of a January move away from the club ultimately led to nothing but Endrick continues to find himself linked with an exit in the summer. Just whether he would be interested in a transfer remains to be seen but, as it stands, the 18-year-old understands the battle ahead.
"I'm playing here with a lot of talents who can be declared as the best in the world," he told UOL Esporte. "It's amazing to have them all by my side, helping me, but I have to improve in every exercise to be at their level, not only in the matches, but also in training.
"Being part of Real Madrid is an honour, but also a challenge. Here I learned a lot about the intensity of the matches, but not only that. With so much talent around me and against me, it is possible to learn different solutions, combining skills and movements with my teammates. Here I can count on something special every time."
Endrick has seen most of his minutes this season in the Copa del Rey, where he has struck three times in as many games, but may be forced to accept a reserve role for the upcoming semi-final when Madrid take on a higher level of competition in Real Sociedad.
