Veurink has been a trusted member of England head coach Sarina Wiegman’s backroom staff since she took up her position in summer 2021. The pair had previously worked together with the Dutch women’s national team for four years.

In his time with England, Veurink has helped the nation to win a first UEFA Women’s EURO along with the inaugural Women’s Finalissima and two Arnold Clark Cups. The Lionesses were also FIFA Women’s World Cup finalists for the first time in 2023.

Veurink has played a significant part in England’s successes and he has cemented his place in Lionesses history.

Following this morning’s announcement, an FA Spokesperson said “We can confirm that Arjan Veurink will depart The FA following UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 and will take on the role of Netherlands women’s head coach. He continues to be a highly valued and respected member of Sarina’s team and has complete focus on the Lionesses’ current UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign and this summer’s tournament. There’s plenty more work to be done together before it’s time to say our farewells.”

Any updates regarding further changes to England head coach Wiegman’s coaching staff will be announced in due course.
