Bethany England became the first player to have scored against every club to have played in the Barclays Women’s Super League after striking twice against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
Staving off an Eagles comeback with a late, late Olivia Holdt winner seeing us edge them 3-2 in Sutton, Bethany bagged a first-half brace to take her tally to seven in the league this term.
Those two goals turned out to be history-making for our captain as she has now scored against each club that has featured in England’s top flight (19) since it’s rebrand in 2011 – the only player in the competition’s history to have achieved that.
Her brace now moves her to 81 goals in the competition, three behind the WSL’s all-time leading goalscorer Vivianne Miedema, who maintained her grip on the title by firing home twice against Aston Villa on Saturday to extend her total to 84.
Heading home with both efforts against Palace, Beth also moves her on level terms with Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw (24) for the most headed goals in WSL history.
