A number of uncapped players will be hoping that new Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel hands them their England debut.

Tuchel is set to name his first England squad on Friday. In recent years, the Three Lions have performed well but fallen short at the final hurdle. Tuchel will look to change that and it could require him to evolve the squad. There are plenty of options for the German coach and nobody is quite sure who he will name.

Here are ten uncapped players that will be hoping for a call up from Tuchel:

Ethan Nwaneri

Ethan Nwaneri has broken into the Arsenal first team this year and the 17-year-old could do the same at international level in the near future. The attacker has impressed in his 18 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season. He has also scored in both of his Champions League starts. It is a question of when not if with Nwaneri’s England call up. Tuchel is surely likely to get him involved sooner rather than later.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Myles Lewis-Skelly is another Arsenal youngster that has established himself this season. A teammate and friend of Nwaneri, the duo have risen through the ranks at Arsenal together and will surely combine for England one day. Lewis-Skelly has primarily been deployed as a left-back by Mikel Arteta and he has shined in that position. Given the lack of left-backs available to Tuchel, it could be likely that Lewis-Skelly will be included in England’s next squad.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is a player that may not be known by Premier League fans. In 2022, Gittens left Man City’s academy to join Borussia Dortmund. Since then, he has steadily been proving himself for the German giants. The winger is now a key player for Dortmund and has started in very one of their Bundesliga and Champions League matches this campaign. He continues to impress at the top level and Gittens will certainly be on Tuchel’s radar.

Liam Delap

Liam Delap is another player from Man City’s academy that is building his career elsewhere. The striker has been a shining light for Ipswich this season. Delap has proven that he is a nightmare for defenders to handle and has already netted 10 times in the Premier League. This makes him the third highest-scoring Englishman in the division. The 22-year-old has demonstrated his abilities at the top level and Tuchel could hand him his first England cap.

Lewis Miley

Lewis Miley is continuing to develop in Newcastle’s midfield. The 18-year-old had a breakout season for the Magpies last campaign. He has had some struggles this season and was sidelined for a lengthy period with a broken foot. However, he has now returned and is starting to earn Premier League minutes again. If Miley gets back to his best and continues to improve, he could force his way into Tuchel’s plans.

Archie Gray

Archie Gray has featured more heavily for Spurs in his first season than anybody would have expected. After impressing with Leeds in the Championship, the 19-year-old was signed by Tottenham Hotspur as a player for the future. However, due to Spurs’ injury crisis, the young defender has already made 36 appearances this campaign. He has risen to the challenge and now looks destined for the top of the game. England have often been short of central defenders and Gray will be a player that Tuchel considers selecting.

Jarell Quansah

Jarell Quansah is another defender that will be hopeful of receiving a call up. The 22-year-old was a part of Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for Euro 2024. However, he was left out of the final squad and is still uncapped for England’s senior team. Although he has struggled for starts this campaign, it would be difficult for any youngster to break into Liverpool’s defence. Quansah has managed 21 appearances for the league leaders and will be an option for Tuchel.

Harvey Elliott

Harvey Elliott is another Liverpool youngster that is yet to make his England debut. The 21-year-old has already been around for a long time, since making his Premier League debut at 16. He was recently trusted to replace Salah away against PSG and grasped the opportunity by scoring the winning goal in a massive match. Tuchel will certainly be aware of Elliott and could give him a chance to play for England.

Jobe Bellingham

Jobe Bellingham is a Championship player that could catch the eye of Tuchel. Obviously his older brother Jude has already established himself as a huge star in the world of football. However, Jobe is making a name for himself in his own right. The 19-year-old has continued to impress for Sunderland this season and is reportedly wanted by top Premier League and European clubs. His performances have attracted these admirers and could also tempt Tuchel to promote him from England’s U-21 squad.

James Trafford

James Trafford is another young Englishman that is impressing in the second division. Jordan Pickford has made England’s number one shirt his own. Although he still has plenty of years left in him, the 31-year-old will eventually give up the position. At this moment, Trafford seems the most natural heir to Pickford’s throne. Burnley’s goalkeeper already has an impressive 25 clean sheets in the Championship this season. The 22-year-old even went on an astonishing 12 game run without conceding and it would not be a surprise to see Tuchel hand Trafford his debut.
