Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly been directly involved now in one of their big transfer pursuits for the summer transfer window.
The Blues are expected to be busy now this summer, and we have had plenty of updates floating around this week already.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put out his latest YouTube video at the weekend with a bunch of info in that. The main takeaway was Romano saying Chelsea are going to be in the market for a new striker, a centre back, and a winger in the summer.
And there has also been a lot of noise regarding Jadon Sancho and whether Chelsea will actually be signing him from Manchester United permanently in the summer or not. The Athletic are reporting that there is a £5m break clause fee that Chelsea can pay to send him back and terminate the loan obligation to buy.
As Romano mentions, centre backs are on the agenda for Chelsea this summer, and one name we continue to hear about is Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth. And now, Maresca has apparently got directly involved in this one to try and give Chelsea the edge.

Thursday’s edition of Sport is titled, ‘Chelsea meddle in Huijsen’s signing’.
The report goes on to mention the interest of both Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Chelsea are actually named as one of the ‘most interested’ clubs, and Enzo Maresca seems to be leading the transfer pursuit.
Maresca once played for Málaga, and Huijsen was at the Spanish club’s academy between 2015 and 2021.
Sport state the Blues manager is ‘well acquainted’ with Huijsen’s youth team coaches and scouts, and then it further adds that Maresca been in direct contact with the defender’s entourage for years.
