It is also the sole path through which clubs in Concacaf can qualify for the new FIFA Women’s Club World Cup—the first edition of which will include 16 clubs and be played between January and February 2026.The continental tournament kicked off the second week of August with a single-leg Play-In in which Vancouver Whitecaps FC (CAN) defeated Alianza Women FC (SLV) 1-0. With the victory, the Whitecaps advanced to the Group Stage, completing Group B.The Group Stage saw 10 clubs—three from NWSL (USA), three from Liga MX (Mexico), and one from each of the domestic leagues of Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Panama—divided into two groups of five clubs each, with each club playing every club in their group once. The five-week Group Stage took place from late August to mid-October. Some of the top moments from the Group Stage included an epic 4-4 draw between NJ/NY Gotham FC and Tigres Femenil to close out Group A, Canadian legend Christine Sinclair playing for Portland in front of her home fans in Vancouver, Tigres Femenil winning the first-ever Women’s Clásico Regio at the international level, and dominant performances by Club America Femenil’s defensive line, which only allowed three goals in four matches.Final Group Stage Standings Group A1.
