Everton have seen a massive improvement since David Moyes returned to the dugout at Goodison Park earlier this month.

The Toffees claimed a stunning 3-2 home triumph over Tottenham Hotspur before overcoming Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 last weekend at the Amex Stadium.

While progress on the pitch has been brilliant, it is the injuries that are really concerning for Everton.

Saturday’s victory over Brighton came at a big cost, as Orel Mangala sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

The club have now confirmed the injury will sideline the defensive midfielder for the rest of the season.

The Belgium international joined the Blues last summer from Lyon on a season-long loan. He hit the ground running at Goodison, featuring in 21 games across all competitions and scoring a goal.

But in a big blow to their Premier League survival hopes, Everton have now lost Mangala for the remainder of the campaign.

To make matters worse for them, Dominic Calvert-Lewin also picked up a hamstring injury against the Seagulls last time. The 27-year-old is expected to remain out for a lengthy spell.

With Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti also not available, Moyes only has Beto as a fit central striker at the moment.

Everton will host Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday. They will hope to continue their momentum by picking up maximum points against the Foxes, who are six points below them in 17th place in the table.

However, Leicester will also fancy their chances after a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Tottenham last weekend.
