Everton new American owners, the Friedkin Group, want to recruit the services of Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear as a potentially key new appointment as they look to keep making much-needed changes across major departments, according to the Telegraph.

The Goodison Park club brought David Moyes back as manager after parting with Sean Dyche and are now looking to land the Elland Road club chief.

Everton will be playing at their new £750 million stadium next season, and Kinnear knows all about helping clubs make the most of a new ground having been the commercial director at Arsenal when they moved to the Emirates Stadium from Highbury in 2007.

The Whites chief was also the managing director at West Ham United when they took over the tenancy of the Olympic Stadium after leaving Upton Park in 2016.

Everton want a strong finish at the end of their first season at Bramley-Moore Dock, and they believe Kinnear would be the perfect candidate as they eye a new chief executive.

The 47-year-old joined Leeds in 2017, playing a key role as they secured Premier League promotion in 2020 having been out of the big time since 2004, and the new owners, the San Francisco 49ers, retained his services in 2023 following their takeover after Andrea Radrizzani left.

The west Yorkshire club got relegated in 2022-2023 but are currently favourites to seal promotion this term as they are top of the Championship table right now with 13 games to go.

Remaining with Leeds could appeal to Kinnear, but the opportunity to join a club like Everton who are looking to establish themselves as regular challengers for Europe could be more tempting, and the Friedkin Group will hope they can land their man.
