Inter Milan take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week.

The Nerazzurri travel to Germany to play the first leg of a quarterfinal tie against the Bavarians on Tuesday.

And there is no doubt that Bayern will be among the most formidable opposition that Inter face this season.

The German league leaders are missing quite a few key players though injury. Jamal Musiala is the latest player to pick up a muscle problem in a wave that has really devastated Bayern.

Nevertheless, Inter will hardly be underestimating the German side just because of that.

Inter Milan wingback Matteo Darmian said that “Beyond their injuries, Bayern are a very strong team.”

The former Manchester United and Torino veteran said that Bayern are “equipped to win everything.”

“We’ll need to put in a match of great focus, spirit, and sacrifice,” he said. “We have to be aware of our strength.”

“Over the next few days we’ll certainly prepare for it at our best.”

Then, Darmian admitted that it’s “hard to say” why Inter Milan collapsed in the second half of yesterday’s Serie A draw with Parma.

“Every match is difficult. Parma are a great team.”

Darmian continued that “we seemed to be in the driver’s seat, we had them where we wanted them.”

“But then they did well to get back into the match.”

“And we were not as good.”

“We have to look at both the positive and negative things we’ve done,” said Darmian.

“And move forward, while remaining positive.”

“A draw can’t undermine our sense of certainty,” the Inter wingback said. “Now, we’ll prepare for the big match against Bayern.”
