Former Roma manager Fabio Capello analyzed Roma’s crisis and discussed the ownership’s decision to fire Daniele De Rossi.

“De Rossi’s dismissal was a shock,” Capello told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “What had been built with him was lost.”

“Juric asked for different things and the group has not yet absorbed this new way of playing. Roma does not deserve the ranking it has, but we certainly do not see a team yet, beyond the individuals.”

“We need to start a discussion from the beginning and ask ourselves why you, the club, made De Rossi sign a three-year contract because you deemed him suitable and then after 4 games you send him away. This aspect already makes me have doubts about certain managerial skills.”

“The feeling is of general confusion. And the boos to individuals are then a consequence. Cristante and Pellegrini should be supported by the fans so that the team becomes important in the rankings too. If they always play it means they are the best in the squad.”

“Perhaps the signing of Hummels was thought for the team that De Rossi was coaching. Then Juric arrived and many things changed. But the question remains: why don’t the new players, apart from Dovbyk, play? It’s something from Cinecittà.”
