Cesc Fabregas insists Como must ‘create this atmosphere’ against any opponent at the Stadio Sinigaglia and admits Dele Alli could start training with his team after Christmas.
Como beat Roma 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, winning their first Serie A match since September. Roma coach Claudio Ranieri noted that the Azzurri had more desire to win the game, and Fabregas seemed to agree.
“We’ve worked on many things, and I think it’s a good night for the city of Como,” the Spaniard told DAZN.
“Sometimes, it’s not a tactical or tactical matter. It’s about resilience and desire. We are Como, I keep saying this every week. We must do more than these big teams to get a result. Sometimes, we will play as we did today but we’ll lose the game.
“Opponents like Dybala have individual qualities, and it could happen to lose the game, but this is the standard, and we have to understand it and remain there.”

Fabregas had promised to pay a trip to Ibiza for the whole team if they were promoted to Serie B last season. Has he made another promise in case of Serie A survival this term?
“No, it’s too far away. The team and the city deserved a night like this,” said the ex-midfielder.
“We need to create this atmosphere at the Sinigaglia every two weeks. Whoever comes here must have respect and fight head-to-head, knowing that it will be a difficult night. This is the path.”
Como scored twice during the stoppages this evening, and at one point, Fabregas was so involved from the touchline that it almost felt like he wanted to play as well.
“I miss it so much,” he admitted.
“Unfortunately, I tried to play a bit with the lads last week, but I sustained a flexor injury, so I said ‘no more.’ But the desire was there,” the former midfielder added, smiling.
Former Tottenham star Dele Alli attended the game at the Sinigaglia, and Fabregas admitted that the Englishman could start training with the team in the coming weeks.
“I got to know him yesterday. I don’t want to talk much about this, but perhaps there’s a chance that he will start training with us after Christmas.
“Let’s see. It would be to help him get in shape and nothing more. For now, we must enjoy this night. We must talk about Como, Gabrielloni and the lads. This is the most important thing.”
