Fabrizio Romano Says Real Madrid One Final Step Away From Securing £50M-Rated Liverpool, PSG Target

PSG showed interest in Dean Huijsen, a Real Madrid target this summer, last year as they looked to reinforce their defense. However, the Spanish center-back joined Bournemouth instead.
Even after bringing in Willian Pacho, the reigning French champions are still in the market for another center-back. With Milan Skriniar’s future uncertain, PSG could shift focus toward a younger player with a long-term upside.
According to a previous report from CaughtOffside, several top clubs — including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG — have all been tracking the 20-year-old closely.
Huijsen has made a strong impression early in the Premier League. The defender has quickly emerging as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders. If PSG reignite their pursuit, they’ll be stepping into a crowded race — and likely facing a steep price tag.
GIVE ME SPORT recently reported that Bournemouth expect Huijsen’s £50 million release clause to be activated this summer.
On Wednesday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Bournemouth have accepted Real Madrid’s terms for a deal involving Huijsen. The terms of this agreement include a £50 million release clause to be paid by the end of 2026. The agreement between the clubs is done.
The final step is getting the green light from Huijsen’s camp, though the player has always prioritized a move to Madrid. Huijsen will be the first arrival under the reported new manager Xabi Alonso if a deal goes through.
Romano recently reported that Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are ready to meet Huijsen’s release clause and are negotiating with his representatives. However, it appears the youngster might have one foot at Real Madrid as this transfer saga wraps up.
