It appears that Bayern Munich youngster Fiete Arp is his own worst critic.
The teenager has already made two summer appearances after arriving from Hamburg but hasn’t been too happy with his displays.
He was very critical of his own performance, particularly against Real Madrid in the 3-1 loss, and believes he must make big improvements.
“My dribble and chance was my only good action. At least that was something positive I can take away,” he told Sport1.
“I realised where my limits are right now, with or without the ball. The pace was a bit too high for me at the moment.
“I’m learning so much from these games because I’ve seen it done at the highest level and analysing the game will be a great help.”
However, he is making a big impression elsewhere and his fellow professionals have been keen to single the 19-year-old out for praise.
“He is from Hamburg so it’ll be a change for him in Munich but Bayern didn’t get him for nothing,” Real’s Toni Kroos said, quoted by Bavarian Football Works.
“They saw something in him and he competed well in a special game.”
Kroos’ Real team-mate Marcelo made a point of congratulating Arp for the devilish piece of trickery that left him for dead in the first half.
