This weekend, the pick of the fixtures in the Premier League comes from the Etihad, where Manchester City will take on Chelsea. The game takes place at 5:30pm and can be seen live on Sky Sports main event. With both teams prioritising a top-four finish after seeing their title aspirations quashed earlier in the campaign there is plenty to play for here. Below you can find our football bet of the day for Saturday, 25th January.
Our bet of the day on Saturday is a double with two selections from the ‘fouls-won’ market on Paddy Power. At the time of writing it pays 7/2, and although it may not be the most eye-watering of prices, we think there’s plenty of reason to believe this will land when you consider the stats behind the selections.
We are massive fans of the fouls-won market here at Squawka and believe there is plenty of value to be snaffled. There should be a nice bit of needle between these two teams, and first half of this double is for Bernardo Silva to clear the 1+ fouls-won line.
The Manchester City man is currently on a streak of eight consecutive home matches in which he has been fouled at least once. His low centre of gravity and ability to turn on a six-pence can often lead to him being fouled and we are surprised to see his price isn’t shorter in this market for Saturday.
The second half of this double features Moises Caicedo. Only Cole Palmer (44) has been fouled more times for The Blues in the top-flight this season than Moises Caicedo (32). This bet has landed in all of his last six matches across all competitions for Enzo Maresca’s side. His fouls won figures in that period read 2,2,2,2,2,2, and with that in mind, he looks a massive price at 7/4 as a single.
