The return to the 1:1 status opens a lot of new avenues for FC Barcelona to strengthen their team going forward. The Blaugranes are looking to take advantage of this recent change in status to get some reinforcements in this very month of January.
However, before being able to add new players, the Catalans will have to ensure the addition of a significant amount of money to their coffers, either through player sales or through any other means.
In this regard, they can be helped by the rights they have over some of their former players, and one such player who can end up bringing a significant amount to the Blaugrana treasury is the defender Oscar Mingueza.
The Spaniard is having a very good season with Celta Vigo and has already gotten a call-up from the Spanish national side on the back of his good performances with his club team.

Now, he can make another big leap in his career this month, as SPORT reports that the Premier League side Aston Villa is keenly interested in his signing and can pay his €20 million release clause for this purpose.
The Villan Sporting Director Monchi is already in advanced talks with the involved parties, while Unai Emery will also be delighted to have such a skillful and versatile fullback in his team for the second half of the season.
The defender himself is waiting to see how this operation turns out, and although he is quite happy at Vigo, he would not outright refuse an offer to join Villa. He understands that this move can prove to be a definitive next step in his career at 25 years of age.
The Bundesliga side RB Leipzig had also shown an interest in the Spaniard, but he was clear that he would leave only to join a top Premier League team that is also playing in the Champions League.
Barcelona themselves will be looking forward to the successful completion of this operation, as it would bring half the transfer fee paid, €10m in this case, into their coffers. This amount can help them incorporate a new striker into their team, with Marcus Rashford looking to be the most likely player to arrive.
