France trained in Split tonight ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Nations League quarter-final first leg against Croatia, however, they did so without Theo Hernandez (27).
The defender, as well as centre-back Dayot Upamecano (26) missed Tuesday’s session ahead of the journey to Croatia. Whilst the Bayern Munich defender has now returned and trained with his France teammates tonight, Hernandez is still absent. The AC Milan full-back did laps of the pitch in the opening part of the session. He is suffering from a calf injury and it is uncertain whether he was part of the latter part of the session, close to the press.
Regardless, his participation against Croatia is in significant doubt. Didier Deschamps, speaking to the press moments earlier, did not express any concern regarding Hernandez’s minor niggle.
Regardless, it looks set to be Aston Villa full-back Lucas Digne (31) who starts at the left of Deschamps’ back four on Thursday night.
