Amid continued talk of a potential move to Stade Rennais, Franck Haise has reasserted his commitment to OGC Nice. Rumours of Rennes’ interest in Haise have been rife all season. He was a name linked with the role, just months after joining Nice, following Julien Stéphan’s dismissal towards the end of 2024 and then once again following Jorge Sampaoli’s sacking earlier this year.
The links are natural. Haise has a strong relationship with Arnaud Pouille, with whom he worked at RC Lens. Pouille was General Manager whilst Haise was at the club with the pair both leaving Les Sang et Or last summer. Pouille has been president at Rennes since October.
Despite the arrival of Habib Beye as manager, and despite the strong results, the rumours of a Haise-Pouille reunion at Roazhon Park persist, especially with a member of Nice’s technical staff, Laurent Bessière set to join the Breton club at the end of the season.
Haise, speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, sought to shut down those links once more. “I won’t tell you the clubs that contacted me in the summer. What I will tell you is that I am very happy at Nice. I am saying it, I’m saying it again, and I’ll say it again and again,” he said.
