Frattesi Mulling His Inter Future Due to Small Role

Davide Frattesi isn’t too pleased with how his Inter stay is going, and the situation could lead to a quiet request to transfer in the summer. Roma are still in the picture as a possible landing spot. The midfielder isn’t creating trouble or making a fuss behind the scenes, but he’d like to play more regularly, Calciomercato informs.

Despite some occasional strong showings, the former Sassuolo star continues to be at most a super-sub. He has featured in 20 matches but just in 8 from the start, half of which in the cups. He has amassed just 100 minutes in the past 8 fixtures, watching 3 from the bench entirely.

Beppe Riso, the agent of Frattesi, tested the waters about a January transfer, but he was quickly rebuffed by the Inter management, which doesn’t want to alter the squad in January. It’ll be more possible next summer. The Nerazzurri paid €31M plus add-ons to acquire him from Sassuolo.

The Italy staple continues to be fascinated by Roma, his hometown and first club. He missed out on the reunion on a few separate occasions. If he doesn’t earn a larger role, he’s likely to part ways with the Scudetto winners in a few months. His representative would evaluate a host of projects, though.

Our Take on Frattesi, Inter, and Roma

This kind of chatter resurfaces every time he gets a little forgotten by Simone Inzaghi or doesn’t score for a month or two, but then he generally bounces back and clears the air. He probably thought he’d overtake Henrikh Mkhitaryan by now, and the arrival of Piotr Zielinski didn’t help. Still, if Oaktree is serious about getting younger, he shouldn’t be the one to bolt.
